Enjoy a traditional Christmas with Santa at the Parkway

The Parkway Shopping Centre is set to give shoppers an extra special Christmas with the unveiling of brand-new decorations along with its exciting calendar of events planned for the festive period.

From mid-November, the busy retail destination will be adorned in traditional themed decorations, helping shoppers get into the spirit of Christmas on the build up to the big day.

Zoe France, Centre Manager “We’ve noticed people have started their Christmas shopping earlier this year. Shoppers have told us that they’ve missed the more traditional Christmas shopping experience, so we intend to give them just that!

“We’re excited to be bringing back Father Christmas, who’ll be with us in-person to meet with children and give them a little treat.themselves . Our Elfie Shelfie promotion is back too. Shoppers can visit our Facebook page from 6th December and try to identify which shop our mischievous elf is hiding in each day.”

From the 27th November, Father Christmas and his faithful elf will be in attendance from 10am -3pm, every weekend, up-to and including Sunday 19th December. The grotto is located on the mall, opposite the post office and will operate on a first-come first-served basis with managed queues, subject to availability.

To ensure nobody misses out, from Friday 3rd December, shoppers who are unable to meet Santa in person, can drop off their letter at his magical post box, located near the grotto.

This year’s donations collected from meeting Santa and the annual ‘Retailer Christmas Jumper Day,’ taking place on Friday 10th December, will be donated to Remembering Rebecca, a local charity that offers much needed support to children in the local community. Another charity initiative welcomed back this year is the popular TFM’s Mission Christmas, who will be collecting unwrapped, new gifts to distribute to children and families who otherwise may not get a present.

From Monday 16th November, Teesside Hospice will be bringing their ‘Light up a Life’ remembrance Christmas tree, positioned at the entrance of Tesco. The tree gives shoppers who have sadly lost people or simply wish to commemorate a life of a loved one, the opportunity to place a heartfelt message on it, in return for a small charitable donation.

The Parkway continues to operate within covid government guidelines, offering a clean and safe environment for its shoppers to enjoy.
